Ain't

AIN'T...

He was just a little boy,
On a week's first day.
Wandering home from Bible school,
And dawdling on the way.

He scuffed his shoes into the grass;
He even found a caterpillar.
He found a fluffy milkweed pod,
And blew out all the 'filler.'

A bird's nest in a tree overhead,
So wisely placed up so high.
Was just another wonder,
That caught his eager eye.

A neighbor watched his zig zag course,
And hailed him from the lawn;
Asked him where he'd been that day
And what was going on.

'I've been to Bible School ,'
He said and turned a piece of sod.
He picked up a wiggly worm replying,
'I've learned a lot about God.'

'M'm very fine way,' the neighbor said,
'for a boy to spend his time.'
'If you'll tell me where God is,
I'll give you a brand new dime.'

Quick as a flash the answer came!
Nor were his accents faint.
'I'll give you a dollar, Mister,
If you can tell me where God ain't.'

How Time Flies!

My last post was July 2008! Here's what's been going on.
August 2008-Spent a very long 10 days with my mother.
She was very ill until she passed away on Aug. 15th.

September and October, I don't remember much.

Before I knew it the holidays were upon us.
Missed Mom. It was tough.

I am so thankful that I had my family and
my friends. I am very blessed with family and friends.

Wall*E

My daughters and I went to see Wall*E yesterday.
I was pleasantly surprised that there were no words in it that I had to tell my youngest daughter, "We don't use those words". I have found that some G-rated movies contain
profanity, but not Wall*E! Yes! Thank you Disney Pixar Studios for a movie the whole
family can really see, without worrying about words and "situations".
This movie makes it's message clear-GO GREEN-Take care of the earth and ourselves.
What a refreshingly cute movie. There are some loud explosions that may scare small
children, but that is the wost thing I can say about it. I love Wall*E and Eve.
They are just adorable!
Please note: I am very picky about the movies and this one I will give a "thumbs up"!
I hope Disney will create more movies like Wall-E!

A Sign Of The Times

I had to chuckle a little bit at my youngest child's basketball game this past weekend.
At the beginning of each game, one child is appointed to call "heads or tails", as the referee flips a quarter in the air. This time, to my amazement, they flipped a credit card! I thought it was hilarious and also a sign of the times we live in. I questioned my daughter after the game about this interesting coin flip. She said that everyone was "broke", so they had to use a credit card.
I guess you had to be there, but I thought it was funny!

eBay Boycott

Every year around this same time, eBay makes changes.
Changes in fees, changes in policy, etc....

So now, the boycott. I don't know who started it, or if
it will get the attention of the new CEO, but the whole
thing just makes me so sad.

It seems we have fun buying and selling from October till January,
then the announcements come and everyone is in an uproar.

I don't like the changes, but I miss going to the post office every day,
with a package to ship.

I am scrambling around looking at other venues to sell my items and
build a business, all over again.

The boycott is from Feb. 18th-25th.

I guess I can hang on a few more days.

Maybe I should take this opportunity to clean house.

So Warm For January!

It was 77 degrees here today! Not really hot, but kind of humid.
Doesn't seem like January, though. I liked it better last week when
I had to bundle up with two blankets and keep the logs on the fire.
Well, you know what they say about Texas weather........
if you don't like it, just wait a minute and it will change.
